Scriptural Teaching On Hair

Is it possible that the length of a person's hair could have anything to do with pleasing God?
You may think it strange, but before you dismiss the question, consider this: "If a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him… If a woman have long hair, it is her glory: for her hair given her a covering (I Corinthian 11:14-15).

In the bible, divinely appointed symbols represent holy things.  example; He gave His disciples bread to eat and a cup to drink. The bread, He said, represented His body, and the cup, His blood (I Corinthian 11:23-25).
God has chosen for the length of people's hair to symbolize their relationship to Him and to the authority He has placed over them. This truth is presented in I Corinthian 11:3-16.

Just a Thought..

TGIF!, Happy Thanksgiving, and shopping, if you have decided to go.  Remember to give thanks to God for all the blessing He has given you! This should not be just a one-day-thing but, an everyday thing.  Everything day you should wake up and give thanks to God!!

So, I spend some time on the internet looking up things for this blog... or sometimes it’s just for fun. I'm going to be honest...things, like clothing, don't catch my attention unless it’s something that is modest and something I will wear.  Same goes for hairstyles, they don't catch my attention unless it’s something I can do to my hair, without cutting it.  Pants, jewellery and indecent clothing do not catch my attention.
 BUT...
This was not always the case though. There were times where I would just look up random stuff and desire to able to wear the clothing, jewellery, and to cut my hair... So I could also be able to have "nice-hair". (so the world makes you think..)

When you are weak spiritually, it is easy to desire the things of this world in our hearts.  Even though, sometimes we don’t verbally speak them... but in our minds we are wishing to “fit-in”.  This preacher once said “It’s in our human nature to want to fit it, but it’s in our heavenly nature to want to stand out.”  God wants us to stand out... to be the light of this dark world.

(Prayer is key! You should have an established prayer life b/c that is your intimate moment with God.  That is where you get to know God, grow and become strong spiritually.)

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV)

How will they see your good works if you act, and look just like them (fit-in).... How will God be glorified?
This caused me to pray, and to ask myself... Why? Why did I always desire these things that I knew were not pleasing to God?  Knowing in my heart that I have been called to be the LIGHT and to represent My JESUS, in all I do.  . Why did I want to dress like the world? Did that make me the light that shined before men?  Why in the world would I ever cut my hair, if everywhere I went ppl would admire it, and ask me about it ...and God was glorified

When you pray and realize what you are called to be, your mentality changes. I realized how dumb it was to want to be like these worldly women, when we have something much greater... and how amazing it is to live a life of holiness for God.  What a privilege it is... to not be like everyone else.  God offers us way much more than the “fashion-world”... that offers us nothing that will make us happy.

So, While the world is designing and finding their “unique-feature”, and what makes them individually special, God has already told us ours... and what an honor it is, to able to be LIGHT..to glorify our Lord Jesus, in everything we do.  This, my friend, is what makes us special.

God Bless you,
Have a wonderful, blessed, Holy Spirit filled weekend! :D

Hair-do's

I Just wanted to share a couple of casual hairstyles, that are very easy to make.
1. Half-do.  These are really easy. Pretty much it's just a bit of hair from the front, rolled or braided back.  The first picture (corner, left), is a fish-tail braid and..she tied it together at the back.  In the 2nd picture, she just twisted the hair and tied it together at the back, and then just rolled it into a mini bun, and pinned it.  In the 3rd, she just pinned the braid across.

2. Braids. These are just your basic braids. They are loose/messy braids to give it a more casual look. You can actually make your braid.. and then just pull some hairs out, to make it look messy.

3. Messy Bun! so.. there's really not much to say..  It's just a pony tail with a really loose bun!

So like I always say.. long is hair is beautiful..very beautiful... but the best part of having long hair is that you can style it anyway you want.  This is a blessing and a privilege to us, apostolic women!!!

God Bless You!

Casually Beautiful

Hello there,

Today I have some casual outfits for fall and even winter.  They are..good for, say.. a Wednesday service, going shopping or just simply hanging out! :) and.. of course they are decent and modest...for Jesus! woo!

Very casual and pretty.  You can tuck the shirt in.. OR just wear it out and put the belt over it.

Bottom:  Layers! I love layers.  One of my favorite things about cold weather, is that you can layer as much as you want, and not have to worry about sweating buckets. lol. Layering helps too, when you have shirt that is see-through or low-cut.. it helps cover up!
To see our post on Jean skirts, Click Here.
To see our post on the Jean jacket, Click Here
I love these two next looks. It think it's something different than a regular ol' obv casual jean skirt.

Top:  This is definetly good for cold weather. A wool skirt, a semi-fitted (fitted.. not tight!) long sleeve shirt (tucked in, or not), a Jean jacket, warm tights, warm scarf.. and your awesome oxfords.
Just ready to go for a nice walk in the park!  I love these colors too!!

Bottom: It's pretty much the same. You could really just switch the Shoes, and belt, and make it look more dressy. This is why I like it.. it's like multi-outifit. lol.
So that's it for now.  Tomorrow I will be posting up some casual hairstyles that would look nice with these outfits.. and you can definitely do these with your hair.. no matter how long and thick your hair is. (this being my problem.lol).  So, Keep Checkin'.. :)

"Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:" Hebrews 12:14 NKJV

Holiness is a big topic.. It does include, however, the way you dress.  This is why our church enforces dressing in Modesty, and not just for women, for men too!  (see the modesty section)

God Bless you :)

"Dressy-Dresses" & Cardigans

God Bless!!

So This week I shall be posting different outfits.
Today I have few different modest "dressy-dress" outfits.
I say "dressy-dress" & Cardigans.. b/c they are all dressy, and they are all dresses with Cardigans. lol.
I may have repeated the same cardigan.. but It's just to give you an example of what kind of cardigan will look good with a dressy-dress.  AND if you are dressing up...then you need a cardigan that looks dressy!

OK.. So, these outfits are all good to go to church.. and/or all these dinners that you will be invited to in the next couple of weeks.

I hope you like them.. :)
Try wearing something other than black in these cold months.
I think these colors compliment each other really well.  Mustard and grey.
Even though black is awesome.. it's good to try something new
*How do you know your dress is too short?
If you put it on.. and the hem is right at your knee..too short!
If you sit down, and your knees show...it's too short.
If you are going down stairs, and people can see up your skirt.. Def.. too short!

These ones remind me of the marine..prob because of the blue.
So the one above is pretty simple.  It's the shoes that stand out.

*Simple is better! When you have a pretty dress, adding to much takes away from it.
I've seen alot of girls who go over the top with accessories..like belts, flowers, scarves..etc etc.
In all honesty, it looks ridiculous.
Even your hair shouldn't be over the top..a nice simple up-do or half-do it good.
Keeping it simple makes you look more pretty and elegant!

The one below is pretty much the same.. but I added the coat.. just because it's awesome. lol.

I really like this one (below) It's really classy and elegant.
It's just a simple black dress, coral cardigan (to give it a pop of color), and nude color belt and pumps.  Love it, love it!

*High-heels:
If you can't walk in them .. Then they are too high for you!!
If you have to take them off after 15 mins.. too high!
If you can't worship with them on because you feel you are going to fall over... Don't wear them.
In all honesty; Heels do make you look more elegant, but too high just make you look trashy.
(sry for the choice of word.. but it's true.)

Well I hope you like these outfits, and they inspire you.
Maybe you won't be able to get these exact items.. but I'm pretty sure  if you shop around, you will find them!  It's what's in.  (not that we are following fashion).
I shall be back on Weds with more outfits :)
Remember: Modesty is Beautiful!
God Bless you :)

Wear that dress!

God bless you, fellow pentecostal ladies!!
Hope you are enjoy the weather..lol.  ok lets get to the nitty gritty...

I know how hard it is to find a dress that is all over modest.  It either has sleeves, but is too short.. OR it is long enough.. but has no sleeves. It sucks.. but yes this is the case, in this day and age.  If  "too short" is your problem...click here... TODAY, we are going to focus on a sleeve-less dress

So, say you have nice dress (like this one), and you really want to wear it, only it has no sleeves....oh no!
NOT TO WORRY!! There are many ways to cover up those flimsy arms....jks. your arms are not flimsy...or are they??  lol.  for today.. I have three... not one but THREE...suggestions that may help with this "no-sleeve" problem! Aren't you excited?? Yay to modesty!

Read Power Before the Throne

If you have been Pentecostal all your life..chances are you have seen this book before.

I know I always saw it in my house, and I was never interested in reading it. I had come to my own conclusion that it was a boring book.

Then...Yeeaarrss later, after I got married.. I decided I was going to read it.. and WOW..I  regret not reading it before.   This book is soo good, and not boring at all.  Lee Stoneking says about this book "This book is a must for every woman of God who wishes to make her calling and election sure in His great kingdom."

Every woman of God.. should def read this book!

Get it here!
