I’m beyond happy that the trends from more
modest eras like the 40s and 50s are coming back. Classic A-line dresses,
midi-length skirts, peasant-style tops and shirts are beginning to pop up in
stores left and right! I’m also excited because a lot of these looks are
available for much less in the thrift stores. I was never really a thrift
shopper until I started reading fashion blogs late last year. I must admit,
it’s fun finding new-to-me treasures (like this top!) for such reasonable
prices and working them into stylishly modest outfits. Whether at a thrift store
or at the mall, I love a good bargain!
Through blogging and connecting with other
people like me, I’ve learned that modesty is so much more than what we put on
our bodies. It’s a lifestyle. I’m grateful for the opportunity to collaborate
with Pentecostal Lookbook to show just how beautiful that lifestyle is… Thank
you.
So,
chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out
for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be
even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive
as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what
else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be
without it. (Colossians 3:12-13 MSG)
